Research Programme Summary

My research focuses on chemical stressors in the environment, studying the behaviour of these stressors in various media (air, biota, water, soil and sediment) and environmental risk issues particularly those pertaining to chemical risks from heavy metals, persistent organic pollutants (POPs) e.g. polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), dioxins/furans, pesticides, etc. and emerging pollutants. I am also involved in waste management, water treatment, environmental health and phytoremediation research. Other areas of interest include cross-disciplinary environmental research, with keen interest in life cycle assessment and sustainability science.
