Postgraduate Studies

The Department's 2-year M.Sc. programme in Environmental Science consists of taught courses in the first year and a research project in the second year. Initial assistance for its establishment came from the International Development Association (IDA) through the British Council. The focus is to equip students with the knowledge and skills that would enable them to contribute to the resolution of national environmental issues. Assistance for the programme has also come from the United Nations University Institute for National Resources in Africa (UNU/INRA).

With this assistance the Department hasintroduced courses in Environmental Management and Policy Studies to complement existing courses.Research training leading to M.Phil. and Ph.D. degree continues in the various Biological Science disciplines under the guidance and supervision of senior members.
